Visa form.

> Tourist visa

For tourist visits to Bolivia, there are three groups of countries:

1. List of countries that do not require a Tourism Visa to enter to Bolivia (Group I)

2. List of countries that require a tourist visa to enter to Bolivia (Group II: without consultation)

3. List of countries that require a tourist visa to enter to Bolivia (Group III: with consultation)

Nationals included in Group I, do not need to apply for a visa to enter to Bolivia if their travel is for touristic purposes only, and can remain in national territory for a maximum of 90 days per year. At the time of their entry to Bolivia they must present their passports with a validity of at least six months, a round trip ticket and an international yellow fever vaccine certificate if the travel includes endemic regions (check the list)

Important. If the purpose of travel is different of tourism, nationals of any group require a visa, depending on their purpose of entering Bolivia.

The Netherlands is in Group I, therefore, Dutch nationals do not need to apply for a visa to enter Bolivia, if their travel is for tourism, and can stay in national territory for a maximum of 90 days per year. If the purpose of travel is different to tourism, nationals of the Netherlands require a visa, depending on their purpose of entering Bolivia.

 

For a tourist visa the following documents are needed:

1. International certification of yellow fever vaccination (if you will visit an endemic region: check the list)

2. Passport with at least 6 months of validity

3. Recent picture 4 x 4 cm

4. Financial proof of solvency (last bank statement)

5. Flight itinerary (departure and return, roundtrip)

6. Hotel reservation or invitation letter issued by someone with legal domicile in Bolivia.

The applicant must upload all the documents above described to the following link: https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/

Once you finished your application, you must send us the pdf form to the email: boliviaconsularlahaya@gmail.com (For the Netherlands). The consular section will verify the documentation and set an appointment.

The day of the appointment, all the original documentation must be presented in order to get the visa. 

> Specific purpose visa

A “Specific Purpose” Visa is required for any of the following grounds:

  1. Employment Visa (30-days): for business trips, or under an employment contract.
  2. Transitory Employment Visa (180-days): for remunerated or lucrative activities.
  3. Medical Treatment Visa (30-days): for specialized medical treatment in Bolivia.
  4. Family visa (30-days): Married couples, consanguinity (blood relation), civil relations, adoptions, and for those financially dependent.
  5. Multiple Purpose Visa (1 year): for employment, investments, business. Renewable for similar terms (as per letter g, of Article 9 – DS 1923).

General requirements:

  1. Visa Application Sworn Statement Form, downloaded from the websites of the General Migration Direction [Dirección General de Migración], or requested at the Consular Offices of the country where the visa is being requested;
  2. Passport, with a validity of at least six months;
  3. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, and/or any other health certificate, where appropriate (in case of visits to endemic regions—please check the endemic region list);
  4. Current photograph;
  5. Proof of payment for the visa application process, with the exception of visas granted under agreements or State covenants.

Specific requirements:

  1. Certificate attesting to the activity to be performed in the territory of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and/or invitation letter from the entity or company for which activities will be performed, plus supporting documentation where appropriate;
  2. Valid certificate attesting to the absence of police or criminal records. This certificate must be issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin, or the applicant’s last residence as per the rules in force;
  3. Proof of financial solvency (last bank statement).
  4. Round trip flight itinerary; Passport (with a validity of more than 6 months); 4 x 4 cm or passport size photograph (recent, in colors and with white background).

Multiple Entry Visas are issued for a period of one (1) year and are renewable for similar periods to foreign citizens that engage in investment or business activities to periodically enter and exit Bolivian territory.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Completed Sworn Statement for Visa Application
  2. Original Passport with at least 6 months of validity
  3. One recent 4" x 4" passport type photograph
  4. Current certificate of good conduct / background check issued by INTERPOL
  5. Legalized documentation of the constitution of the company that you represent in your country of origin or country of residence
  6. Certified photocopy of the Tax Identification Number (NIT) or original electronic certification if the company was established in Bolivia.

Once the application process is completed, the Applicant must send the PDF form to the following address: boliviaconsularlahaya@gmail.com(for the Netherlands). The Consular offices will validate the information uploads and arrange a meeting.

On the date arranged, the Applicant must present the original documentation in order to be granted the visa.

* Travel authorization for children under 18 require a translate and legalized document.

Important: Marriage. Foreigners wishing to marry in Bolivia need, in addition to the specific purpose visa, an international birth certificate and a single status certificate issued by the Civil Registry of the relevant country. Both documents must be legalized in the Consular Section of the Embassy or Honorary Consulates of Bolivia (document legalization).

> Student visa

For an student visa the following documents are needed:

  1. International certification of yellow fever vaccination (if you will visit an endemic region: check the list)

  5. Letter of acceptance from the school, university or institute
  6. Recent picture 4 x 4 cm
